Description

Dried leaves of Senna alexandrina , a shrub belonging to the legume family Fabaceae. These leaves are typically oblong or lance-shaped and have a glossy appearance. They are a vibrant green color when fresh and turn a darker green when dried. Senna leaves have a characteristic mildly sweet and slightly bitter taste.

Application

Senna leaves are widely recognized for their medicinal properties as a natural laxative. They contain compounds called sennosides, which stimulate bowel movements and help relieve constipation.
